“통일이후 시대 청사진 마련"
한민족통일준비위 지난 4일 발기인대회

오는 7월 창립대회 미주인사도 다수 참여
50개주별 준비위 구성


“통일 이후를 준비하는 대표단체로 자리매김 하겠습니다.”

한민족 통일준비위원회(이하 통준위·해외준비위원장 김길영)는 4일 미주 발기인대회를
갖고 단체 창립을 위한 본격적인 준비 작업을 시작했다.

오는 7월 창립을 앞둔 통준위는 정부차원을 벗어난 범국민적인 차원에서 통일을 준비해
통일한국의 문화, 교육, 경제 등에 대한 청사진을 마련한다는 방침이다.

통준위는 올 여름 열릴 창립대회를 통해 선출될 상임회장(손병두 서강대총장 내정)과
해외 대륙별 5인 공동회장 및 국내 5인 공동회장, 국내외 각분과별 위원장, 지역별 본부장
체제로 운영될 계획이다. 미주지역에서는 50개 주별 통일준비위원회를 구성해 미주
전역에 걸친 통일 준비활동을 주도한다는 방침이다.

통준위의 발기인단에는 국내외 각계 인사들이 참여해 눈길을 끌고 있다. 국내 인사로는
한승조 전 고려대 정치학과 교수, 고영주 변호사, 이인호 전 러시아 대사, 이규정 전
국회의원 등이 참여했으며 해외인사로는 김근하 캐나다 한인회 총연합회장, 박정길 아중동
한인회 총연합회장, 정해명 대양주 한인회 총연합회 회장, 김승리 미주 한인회
총연합회장 등이 이름을 올렸다.

5일 LA한인타운에서 열린 기자회견에 참석한 노철래 고문(국회의원·친박연대 원내대표)
은 “통준위는 순수한 민간차원에서 통일 이후 한국을 준비하는 범민족 단체”라고
소개하고 “각계각층의 통일에 대한 염원을 한 그릇에 모으기 위해 단체를 발족하게 됐다”
고창립배경을 설명했다.
